Public Safety & Crime

Key Priorities
  • Reduce rising crime rates in Nye County
  • Prevent Nye County from becoming a sanctuary jurisdiction
  • Target repeat offenders
  • Strengthen collaboration with the District Attorney
  • Enforce consequences for both major and minor crimes
Expanded Plan

Protecting our community starts with confronting the reality of increasing crime rates. Public safety must remain the top priority of the Sheriff’s Office.

A small number of repeat offenders are responsible for a disproportionate amount of crime. My administration will work closely with the District Attorney’s Office to identify these individuals and ensure they face meaningful consequences. Holding repeat criminals accountable will significantly reduce overall crime and improve safety countywide.

We will also reject policies that weaken enforcement or compromise public safety, including any move toward sanctuary-style practices. Cooperation with appropriate agencies and adherence to the rule of law are essential to protecting our citizens.

Additionally, we will not dismiss “minor” crimes as insignificant. History has shown that when small offenses go unchecked, they escalate into larger, more serious crimes. Consistent enforcement sends a clear message that crime will not be tolerated at any level.

Drug Enforcement & Narcotics Interdiction

Key Priorities
  • Identify and disrupt drug supply sources
  • Track how narcotics enter Nye County
  • Increase community reporting and involvement
  • Utilize narcotics detection dogs (budget permitting)
Expanded Plan

Illegal narcotics continue to harm families and fuel crime throughout our community. Addressing drug trafficking requires more than reacting to individual arrests — it requires identifying the sources and routes by which narcotics enter our county.

This effort will not be easy and will require cooperation from residents, business owners, and community leaders. Public input is vital in helping law enforcement identify suspicious activity and trafficking patterns.

If budget allows, I will prioritize the use of trained narcotics detection dogs to assist in locating vehicles transporting drugs into our communities. Strategic enforcement combined with community engagement will be key to disrupting the drug pipeline.

Homelessness & Community Impact

Key Priorities
  • Establish a Sheriff’s Office task force
  • Form a parallel citizen advisory group
  • Collaborate with civic leaders, the DA, and business leaders
  • Address root causes including addiction and mental illness
Expanded Plan

Homelessness is a complex and longstanding issue in Nye County. It has persisted through multiple administrations, and there are no quick or easy solutions.

The individuals facing homelessness often struggle with addiction, mental illness, or other difficult circumstances. Simply pushing the problem elsewhere is not a solution.

My approach will be collaborative and structured. I will create a task force within the Sheriff’s Office focused on enforcement, coordination, and response. At the same time, I will establish a citizen-led advisory group that includes civic leaders, the District Attorney, and concerned business owners to brainstorm practical, lawful, and compassionate solutions.

Addressing homelessness requires balancing public safety with responsible community leadership.

Community Engagement & Transparency

Key Priorities
  • Launch a “First Tuesday” community program
  • Provide monthly open access to the Sheriff and Deputies
  • Create direct communication channels
  • Strengthen trust between residents and law enforcement
Expanded Plan

Strong community relationships are essential to effective policing. During my time with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, I participated in a program called “First Tuesday,” where residents were invited to meet with law enforcement in an informal setting.

I plan to implement a similar monthly event in Nye County. Residents will be invited to the Sheriff’s Office to meet deputies, discuss neighborhood concerns, and build direct lines of communication.

This initiative will:

  • Improve transparency
  • Encourage community input
  • Provide deputies with valuable local intelligence
  • Strengthen public trust

When law enforcement and the community work together, everyone benefits.

Leadership, Morale & Department Integrity

Key Priorities
  • Restore morale within the Sheriff’s Office
  • Support and empower line deputies
  • Improve retention of personnel
  • Promote honor, integrity, and professionalism
Expanded Plan

I was recruited to run for Sheriff due to concerns surrounding the current administration and its impact on morale and staffing. Retaining experienced deputies and restoring confidence within the department will be a top priority.

Leadership begins by listening. I will support the deputies who are on the front lines serving our community every day. By creating an environment of professionalism, respect, and accountability, we can rebuild morale and restore pride within the Sheriff’s Office.

My goal is to establish a culture rooted in confidence, honor, and integrity — one that develops new leaders, retains experienced personnel, and ensures long-term stability for the department.
